Eligibility
Citizens and most legal residents with low incomes are eligible. Undocumented immigrants are usually not eligible but can apply for their children who are legal residents or U.S. citizens. Additionally, recipients of SSI/SSP benefits may be eligible for CalFresh. Applying for CalFresh will not change your SSI/SSP benefits. Income guidelines also apply.
Call or apply online and a Food Bank Outreach workers can help fill out the first section of the application over the phone. Applicants will then schedule an intake interview at the county office, where they must present documentation of identification, residency, income, and bills.
Documents
Copy of ID, Proof of any income, Proof of immigration status (for non-citizens), Proof of student status (for college students). Based on answers provided on the application additional documents may be required.
